Onion Tomato Sabzi - Pyaz Tamatar ki Sabzi

Onion Tomato Sabzi - Pyaz Tamatar ki Sabzi, this is a very common dish in our home. When ever we feel lazy to do side dish for chapati or when we do not have any vegetable to make the sabzi this one comes in very handy. Both my Mom and MIL used to do this sabzi for chapati. So, I learnt it from them. 

You know what, I couldn't even imagine entering kitchen without onion and tomato!!! I use these two ingredients in most of my recipes. And this dish uses only those two ingredients in main. This is a very simple dish to make with very few ingredients and can be made with in ten minutes.

Onion Tomato Sabzi - Pyaz Tamatar ki Sabzi

Preparation Time : 10 Minutes | Cooking Time : 10 Minutes | Serves : 2

Onion(medium size) - 3 No.
Tomato - 1 No.
Roasted Peanuts - 2 tbsp.
Chana Dal - 1/2 tsp.
Curry Leaves - 2 Sprigs.
Coriander Leaves - few strands
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp.
Chili Powder - 3/4 tsp.
Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp.
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp.
Oil - 1 tbsp.
Salt to taste

1. Keep all the ingredients ready to make Onion Tomato Sabzi - Pyaz Tamatar ki Sabzi.
a. Chop the onion and tomato roughly.
b. Crush the peanuts.
c. Chop the curry leaves and coriander leaves
2. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds. When the cumin seeds splutter, add in the chana dal and fry till it turns light brown color. Add the onion and curry leaves. Saute till transparent.
3. Add in the chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder. Mix it well and saute till the raw smell goes off.
4. Add the chopped tomato and saute for a minute. Add in the salt and saute till the tomatoes become soft and mushy.
5.Once the tomato is well cooked, add in the crushed peanuts and mix well. Add the chopped coriander leaves.
6. Mix the coriander leaves well and switch of the flame.

Easy Onion Tomato Sabzi - Pyaz Tamatar ki Sabzi is ready to serve. Serve it with chapati or roti.
