Mutton Pepper Fry - Mutton Milagu Varuval

Mutton Pepper Fry - Mutton Milagu Varuval, this is a spicy and tasty dish which require no fancy ingredients to cook. We will be using only very few ingredients to make this mutton fry. We are going to add dry red chilies and pepper powder for the spiciness of the curry, no other masala powders are added. This fry will have a nice flavor of pepper and cumin and the taste will really good. Try this out!


Mutton Pepper Fry - Mutton Milagu Varuval

Preparation Time : 15 Minutes | Cooking Time : 30 Minutes | Serves : 2

Ingredients
Mutton - 250 gm
Onion - 2 no.
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp.
Dry Red Chili - 3 no.
Curry Leaves - 2 Sprigs
Pepper Powder - 3/4 tsp.
Cumin Powder - 3/4 tsp.
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp.
Oil - 2 tbsp.
Salt - to taste

Method
1. Keep all the ingredients ready to make the pepper mutton fry. 
a. Thinly slice the onions.
b. Wash mutton and mix little salt and turmeric powder and keep it aside.
Heat oil in a kadai. Add sliced onions, dry red chilies and curry leaves. Saute till onion turns golden brown
2. Add the mutton pieces and mix well. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell of ginger and garlic vanishes.
3. Add in the salt, pepper powder and cumin powder. Mix it well. Do not add water. While cooking, mutton will ooze out some water. 
4. Cook on medium flame till the water dries up. Once the water dries up, add the half cooked mutton to a pressure cooker, add enough water. and pressure cook it for 4 to 5 whistles. (Note: Number of whistles depend upon the meat. If the meat is little tender, then 2 whistles will do)
5. Once the mutton is cooked, wait till the pressure is completely released. Transfer the pressure cooked mutton along with remaining water to a kadai and cook it till all the water dries up. Switch off the flame when the mutton becomes dry.

Yummy Mutton Pepper Fry - Mutton Milagu Varuval is ready to serve. Serve it with steamed rice and rasam / sambar.
