Easy Bonda using Idli Batter

Easy Bonda using Idli Batter, as per the name of the recipe, this is an easy and simple snack that can be made in few minutes if you have the ingredients ready. Usually we make bonda using urad dal batter or besan(Chick Pea Flour) but this is done using idli batter. If you see an unexpected guest at home, no worries... Prepare this easy snack and get the credits. Lets see how to make this tasty snack.

Easy Bonda using Idli Batter

Preparation Time : 10 Minutes | Cooking Time : 15 Minutes | Serves : 5

Idli Batter - 1 Cup
Rice Flour - 3 tbsp.
Onion - 2 No.
Green Chili - 2 No.
Curry Leaves - 1 Sprig
Coriander Leaves - 1 Sprig.
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1/2 tsp.
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp.
Carom Seeds - 1/4 tsp.
Oil for deep frying
Salt to taste

1. Keep all the ingredients ready to make the Bonda.
a. Keep the Idli batter ready.
b. Finely chop the onions, green chilies, curry leaves and coriander leaves.

2. Add the rice flour to the idli batter and mix it well without any lumps.
3. Add chopped onions, green chilies, curry leaves, coriander leaves, ginger garlic paste and cumin seeds to the batter. Mix it well. Also add the carom seeds(Omam/ajwain) and mix it well with the batter.
4. Heat oil in a kadai for deep frying the bondas. When the oil is hot, take a small amount of batter in your hands and drop it carefully in the oil. Drop it one by one and fry them on medium flame.
5. Fry the bondas on all sides till golden brown and crisp.

Crispy and tasty Bonda is ready to serve. Serve it as an evening snack with tea or coffee.
