Bisi Bele Bath Masala Powder

Bisi Bele Bath Masala Powder, this is an authentic Spice mix of Kannada Cusine. Bisi Bele Bath is famous dish in Karnataka. The taste maker of this rice dish is this Bisi Bele Bath Masala Powder. We get ready made Bisi Bele Masala in market and we can use that as well, to prepare this dish. But, always homemade Masalas have a unique flavor and taste. And the most important part in homemade masala is, we can adjust the quantity of ingredients to our taste.



Bisi Bele Bath Masala Powder

Preparation Time : 5 Minutes | Cooking Time : 15 Minutes |
Serves : Can be used for 2 times

Ingredients
Dry Coconut - 1/2 Cup
Cinnamon Stick - 1/2 inch piece
Cloves - 4 No.
Cardamom - 1 No.
Mace - 1 petal.
Marati Mogu - small piece
Channa Dal - 1 tbsp.
Urad Dal - 1 tbsp.
Dry Red Chilies - 5 No.
Coriander Seeds - 1 tbsp.
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp.
Poppy Seeds - 1/2 tsp.
Curry Leaves - 2 Sprigs
Kashmiri Chili Powder - 2 tbsp.
Oil - 1/2 tsp.

Method
1. Cut the dry coconut into small pieces and dry roast it till you get the aroma of coconut. Remove from heat and keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan and add all the whole spices like cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, maze and marati mogu. Fry for few seconds.
2. Add the channa dal and urad dal and fry for a minute. Add the dry red chilies and fry for few seconds.
3. Add the coriander seeds and fry for a minute. Add the cumin seeds and fry for another minute.
4. Add the poppy seeds and curry leaves and fry for a minute.
5. Now add the dry roasted dry coconut pieces and mix well. Fry all the spices for few seconds and switch off the flame. Allow the mix to cool to room temperature.
6. Add the spices to the blender and grind it to a powder. Once it is powdered, add the kashmiri chili powder and run the blender once to mix the chili powder with other spices.

The magic masala to prepare bisi belle bath is ready.

Note:
I have added kashmiri chili powder as I did not have the dry kashmiri chilies. If you have kashmiri chilies, then add the whole chilies instead of the powder.
