Adai Dosai

Adai Dosai, this is a protin rich food best suited for breakfast. We can make this for dinner too, but your tummy might feel little heavy after eating the dosa. As per the name suggest, we are going to make dosa with adai batter. Normally, when we make adai the batter will be thick and we used to spread the batter using our hand. But here I made the batter little thin, like the dosa batter consistency and prepared as if we make dosa. I will post the traditional Adai recipe when I prepare it next time... Here we go for the easy Adai Dosai recipe...

Adai Dosai

Preparation Time : 6 Hours | Cooking Time : 15 Minute | Serves : 4 to 5

Raw Rice - 1 Cup
Toor Dal - 1/4 Cup
Channa Dal - 1/4 Cup
Urad Dal - 1/4 Cup
Dry Red Chili - 4 to 5 no.
Fennel Seeds - 1 tsp.
Asafoetida Powder - 1/4 tsp.
Onion - 3 no.
Salt - to taste

1. Soak rice, channa dal, toor dal and urad dal in water for about 4 to 5 hours. After 5 hours, drain the water and keep the rice and dal ready for preparing adai batter. Finely chop the onions and keep it ready.
2. Add the soaked rice and dals in a blender. Also add fennel seeds, salt, dry red chilies and asafoetida. Grind it to make a coarse batter. Consistency should be not too thick or too thin. It should be like a dosa batter.
3. Add the finely chopped onions to the batter and mix well.
4. Heat a dosa tawa. Take one or two ladles of batter and pour it on the tawa. Once it is cooked on one side, flip it to the other side and cook till it is done. Note: Cook on medium flame.

Easy Adai Dosai is ready to serve. Adai always tastes better with aviyal. As we have made it like dosa here, we can also serve this with coconut chutney.
