Poori

Poori, this is a common and favorite Indian dish. Who will not like Poori? From the elders to kids, every one likes it. Hope many of you already know how to make poori. But still, I have shared a basic recipe to prepare poori. This post will definitely help beginner in making good and fluffy poori. Potato Masala and Channa Masala are the best accompaniments for Poori.


Poori

Preparation Time : 30 Minutes | Cooking Time : 20 Minutes | Makes : 30 Poori

Ingredients
Wheat Flour - 1/2 Kg
Rava / Sooji / Semolina - 1 tbsp.
Vanaspathi - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Water - as needed
Oil for frying poori

Method
1. Keep all the ingredients ready to make the dough. Soak the rava / sooji in water for about 10 minutes.
2. Add wheat flour, salt, rava and vanaspathi  to a mixing bowl. Mix it combine the flour by sprinkling water little by little. Continue till you get a smooth dough. Set it aside for 10 to 15 minutes.
3. Make medium sized ball out the dough. Roll it to make medium thick circles using rolling pin. Make sure the thickness is even all over the circle.
4. Heat oil in a kadai to fry the poori. Slide the poori one by one into the hot oil. Make sure to fry the poori in medium flame.
5. The poori will fluff as shown in the picture below. Gently flip it to other side and cook for 20 seconds. Drain the oil and transfer it to a paper towel.

Fluffy poori is ready to serve with potato masala or channa masala.
