Roasted Paneer

Roasted Paneer, one of the easy dish to make with paneer. Actually, my husband is not a great fan of paneer before but I love paneer. After he tasted the paneer butter masala, he slowly started to eat paneer. So, I started to prepare paneer dish once in a month. Here is one such recipe which I tried last month and he liked it very much. You can have this as a starter or as a side dish for rice varieties.

Paneer – 200 gms.
Red Chili Powder – 1 tbsp.
Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp.
Dry Mango Powder (Amchur Powder) – 1/2 tsp.
Cumin Powder – 1 tsp.
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp.
Kasuri Methi – 1 tsp.
Oil – 3 tbsp.

Salt to taste


1. Cut the paneer into 2 X 2 cubes (Flat). Take a mixing bowl and add red chili powder, garam masala, dry mango powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and salt. Crush the kasuri methi using your palms and add it to the mixing bowl.
2. Add little water and make it to a thick paste.Add the cubed paneer in the masala and mix it thoroughly. Make sure the paneer cubes are not broken. Allow this mix to marinate for half an hour.
3. After half an hour, heat oil in a pan and place the marinated paneer one by one in the oil. Roast it carefully without breaking the paneer cubes. Toss to the other side and cook on both sides till the masala is coated well on the paneer cubes and roasted. Repeat for all the panner cubes.
Delicious and yummy roasted paneer is ready to serve.

Serve it as a starter or side dish for any of your favorite dish.
